Raid?
I was in the upstairs bar of The Bulldog last night when the police arrived downstairs.The upstairs barman panicked, stopped the DVD, turned the lights on, then turned the lights off, then realized that the projector was still throwing light on the screen, then locked the door, and said “cover yourself up boys”, and finally hopped around on one foot trying to pull his trousers on, which for some reason he couldn’t manage.
It turned out that that there had been a domestic incident nearby, some guy had smashed up another guy’s flat, and the police were looking for the miscreant. But there had been a sharp intake of breath by everyone in the downstairs bar when one policeman put one foot on the first step of the stairs up to the top bar. For some reason he didn’t proceed upstairs, which is a pity, because I like men in uniforms.
