Hot Child in the City
Had to go to Old Street first thing this morning. Got the tube all the way to Barbican and walked. It was quite nice although even in just a shirt and loosely fastened tie I was sticky after a 5 minute walk. There’s nothing like going into a noisy basement and looking down a hole to ease you into the working week.I never really knew where Old Street was. I had a vague recollection of going to see a band in a place in Hoxton a few years back but its all different at the weekend. Back in the day I just thought it looked really dodgy. Now I know that its the road I turn down to get to the NCP car park that I use if I have to drive into work, probably not the quickest or most direct route but its the one I know. Damn, there’s so much of London I have never seen.
Didn’t leave work until 7.10pm this evening. This ensured that I missed all my connections and didn’t get home until 8.45pm. I always wonder, if I worked through my lunch would I have gotten away an hour earlier? Probably not, there’s always too much to do. I am definitely working too much- too tired to even do the Suduko in the Evening Standard (the easy one obviously).
