Huzzah!Pam was good. It would have been better if I hadn’t desperately needed a piss throughout both acts, concentrating on not engulfing the entire Economy class in torrents of urine.
Twas muchos fun. We waited at the right stop, but at the wrong place – now there’s West Midlands transport for you. Then on the way back the train that we needed to catch was cancelled, and two later ones never existed – that’s Silverlink Trains for you.
So, just to torment us, the train actually went through Northampton and onto Milton Keynes. Everything was closed or broke and even Subway tormented our hungry souls by making us walk in the rain for steaming hot food for 3 minutes, only for some greasy chav to turn the internal lights off when we got to the front door. Bastards!
But it was good fun and I had the wiseness to know that a disaster was going to ensue and to book the following day of work
In other news, I have just laughed muchos with my mother as it turns out that my father, after 256234785623784 years of working has finally managed to get the sack for the first time. Apparently the son of the blokey who owns this company in Dunstable hasn’t liked my dad from the off, and told him off for playing on his palmtop. My dad said that he was using the calculator function – knowing my dad, it would have been the truth or he would have just gone – “I’m really sorry”
Said owner’s son then called my dad a fat little man with a fat little nose, to which my father just stood up and walked out. He was chased accross the car park with verbal abuse ensuing, and now my dear old Dad has gone to the police about it.
So now I am the only one who works, well, if not til Friday at least!
I have this feeling that I couldn’t be arsed if I ever work again. I would drive myself insane at the stupidity of others around me, the lack of common sense and the sheer loss of forethought of certain decisions of so-called managers, but if I didn’t work, I would lose my home and possessions.
