I am homeMy first part-time day for 5 years – and yes – it’s still light outside.
Bob looked at me a little puzzled when I walked through the front gate about 30 minutes ago.
Well if I do insist on working less than 30 hours, I really should go and use the time wisely and do some more destruction in the utility room. Most of yesterday was taken up by chipping away at the wall at what could only be described as diamond-enriched plaster. Funnily enough, when I finally got through it to screw the plugs back in, the wall behind the plaster crumbled to dust.
I really do wonder why this place still stands.
Had a really good night out for a change at the Rover quiz. The change brought about by me actually trying to enjoy myself and not be soooo beligerent when I’m tipsy and the fact that I forced hubby to have at least 2 brandy and cokes throughout the whole of the evening.
Things up until then had been a little ropey between us, so let’s hope all that’s out the way now.
Had hoped to see Sooty and Sweep switch on the Northampton town lights this year, however, the sea of teenagers that I was accompanying decided that beer was a better option – a better decision all round methinks.
And we managed to come 3rd in the Rover quiz and not one round did she have that we rehearsed before we left, so for two 20-somethings versus a plethora of blue-rinses, middle-aged managers, shoe factory workers and seething yuppies from the shoeboxes over the road; I think we did rather well – notwithstanding the fact that the team next to us (5 elderly peeps) gave us the final answer as they felt sorry for us. After asking where how we were doing, me replying "oh I think we’re third at the moment, they were a little bit peeved as I took our tenner prize money and stuffed it in my pocket – they’d help us beat them into 4th place 😜
And I won a tenner on the lucky dip draw too – so thats 3 less hours for me to work next week
Ah such is life
