Surrounding
Another night, another dream.I seemed to be in a cave with two other people. It was a bit like I was in a film scene, or level in a game, (as a lot of my dreams so to be) I didn’t know the two other people and the cave was quite large and well dressed with furniture, as though someone had made their home there.
Covering the floor of the cave were two giant patterned blue rugs; quite old and frayed at the edges. The floor sloped to one side, and at it’s lowest point was a small brook etching it’s way through the cavern floor. The three of us were looking around for something, and I had a feeling that whatever it was wasn’t going to be pleasant or wanted to be disturbed.
Then it suddenly struck me. I grabbed hold of one of the rug corners and threw it back. There was a wooden floor beneath it with a huge brass screw. I undid it quickly and prized the floor open – below the wooden floor was a large valley – far larger than the room seemed to be, and I could hear rushing water – far larger than the brook that trickled through the room.
And then a lorry thundered past the flat and woke me up.
Gah
I walked to work in the freezing cold today earlier than normal as my back is still a little sore.
I think that all of these odd hours and irregular mealtimes are starting to have a good effect on my health. As soon as I get into a routine, I get comfortable. As soon as I get comfortable I get fat.
I spent my teenager years alternating between inflating and deflating more times than my sodding lungs did, and I don’t fancy going back to that.
I seem to be eating when I need to now – and although my mum would scream at the thought – I prefer not to be plump.
I painted the hall ceiling last night – oh joy of joys and hung one piece of wallpaper before losing my temper with the next one. I’ve got an agent coming to look at the flat again on Tuesday and I think, hopefully, after much consideration and excel spreadsheets costing it all up, this will be the best one.
I must write that letter to the inland revenue tonight too and apply for some random jobs in Wellingborough – as you do.
