Bonfire of Profanities

Pragmatic

I’ve just got off the phone to a lovely lady from the Venn Group.

“So which parts of London would you consider working in then?”

“I wouldn’t – I have commitments now that mean I can’t be too far away from Northampton”

“Ok – well whats your nearest train station?”

“Well (erm) Northampton train station” – bless she’s never been to places that only have ONE train station

“Oh that goes to Euston – how about near Euston?”

Sorry love? Did you not just hear what I said? “No thank you. I want to stay local”

“Well I shall pass your CV onto our....(looks at the county name)....Northamptonshire consultants to see if there are any vacancies that you will be suited to”

Northamptonshire consultant? I bet he’s not very busy – or he’s very good at lying.

For some people a life outside London doesn’t exist. I’ve lived in a large city and worked in it at the same time. Why anyone would think that I would want to waste – yes waste – several years of my life thundering through the home counties everyday before and after work is beyond me.

I like my half hour walk to work. It’s on the other side of town and I can get there in half an hour. Perhaps I just like to spend my time more efficiently.

I ended up being on the phone to my sister for a lengthy period of time (think “lengthy” and “my sister” as being anything over 30 seconds) telling me about all of her tragedies in life – her cookers blown up, her fence has fallen down, Holly keeps tearing the wallpaper, I’ve run out of nappies.......muchos stifled yawning

Though she did say that Kirsty did get attacked at work today, which would have been fun to watch, tho this coming from my sisters mouth usually means FALSEHOOD.

Oh well. I’m sure my spies can tell me the truth.

Right – must paint something
