Bonfire of Profanities

Rakish

I’ve just let work know that I shall be leaving next Friday. I was surprised how difficult it was.

Not like at the Stroke Association – as that was hard as I was so desperate to get out. Apparently if it comes up permanently they will try and get me to apply – which I was flattered by – as I thought I’d cocked most of the things up. I don’t know whether my efficiency, (despite sometimes being so bored with nothing to do) has rubbed off on others, but it would seem as though I’d brought a bit of the outside world, inside. A lot of NHS places work like that. I was amazed at how tunnel-visioned I had become working at the hospital.

The NHS is quite fun to work in. It’s usually very manic and in your face to patients, but the real behind the scene stuff is that its a very relaxed, well supportive place to work. The only downside is that everything is very slow moving, you do get the odd waste of space, and it’s also controlled by the government......no change there then.

I hope I’ll get some work somewhere – it’s probably the only constant non-disappointment (TSA aside) I’ve had in my life.

Apparently the clients say how polite and efficient I am.

It’s funny – as I could excel as an administrator and probably be one of the best, but there’s a bit more to me than that – I’ve been on that path before and I don’t particularly want to tread it again.

Oh those lovely lie-ins – how beautiful!
