Freakcity

From uneventful to eventful

It’s been a strange weekend, and a strange week to be honest. The stresses at work had been building up, not knowing what was wrong with me but having my own thoughts on the matter, unconfirmed and confused.

Wednesday I attempted Retro, said hello to Daz, Jules, Danny, Richard and Dennis, but soon felt out of place and wanted to get home. Sean had “Chris” over at the time, this guy that seems to be playing a bit of a role in his life at the moment... hmmn.

Thursday I went to see my GP, to talk about all the problems and symptoms I’ve been having recently. It was one of the nicer doctors that seems happy to actually take more than the allocated five minutes to try and diagnose problems. It ended up being closer to forty five minutes, and there is still no definate outcome. He is quite sure that I’m suffering stress, but he is sending me for a variety of liver and thyroid related blood tests just to eliminate everything else.

I suppose in theory it is a good thing suffering from stress and it not being anything physically serious, though it does mean I’ll have to spend some time figuring out what it causing the stress.

OnFriday+ I had intended to go and see Laurie, but by the time I’d got home I was about ready to collapse, so sat playing C&C Generals all evening and then watched the fourth episode of Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex.

Saturday , I was due to head straight over to Sean’s... but got sidetracked with being sleepy, and having a couple of hours listening to my music collection. Eventually got over there for early afternoon, and it can’t have been more than an hour before Sean and I entered a “relationship chat”. Several hours later, lots of his tears, and lots of my words, he seemed happier and I seemed confused. I’m not sure we found a resolution to our problems. We’re very different people on some levels, and I’m not sure if this is going to pan out, but at the same time I don’t just want to throw away a relationship with someone I generally enjoy spending time with. It’s all a bit headfuckey. Damn you life for not making these things easier.

After making up (yeah yeah... I know), we geeked over a few episodes of Enterprise and Futurama, and then made up in the sense that most couples do after a row. Food was involved at some point. Pizza I think. With chicken. Shocker.

+Sunday was unexpected. Coffee and cake with Tom turned into shopping for trainers, spending£60 on a pair of Vans similar to the ones that Sean wants only in different colours, and then mincing in the cold down to Debenhams and watching Tom oogle lots of things that neither of us can afford at the moment.

We bumped into Stevie and his best friend Misha down the road from Debenhams, and the queen took lead and directed us towards Starbucks, where due to lack of seating we spent at least the next hour gossiping and sipping coffee in the freezing cold. At this point I felt I’d had too much coffee, but at least it was warm, unlike Tom and Misha who both went for ice drinks, in the freezing cold...

With Tom needing to go home to Cambridge, and Misha heading home to somewhere northernly, there wasn’t really much we could do apart from head back to a station, so the rest of the afternoon can be summed up as “three queens and a hag hastily walking down oxford street making lots of noise about the cold”. It was cold though, freezing cold. Silly us.

Random Thought: If this week goes smoothily, I shall eat a tub of ice cream and drink a glass of whiskey.
