Am writing an essay about the memory of the first world war, and it has been quite an interesting essay to read for. Was just having a chat with the boyf about the war in general and was informing him about how they had bombing raids in London during the first world war. I had been told that the first ever bombing raids in a wartime situation were during the Spanish Civil War, and he looked at me confused and was like “So when was that then?”!!I was shocked! I asked him when he thought the First World War ended (I had already told him it started in 1914) and he went...“ummm.....about 1920”
And when asked about the Second World War he paused and said “I think that 1945 is important, but I don’t know why.”
Ok, I know it ended then....but he didn;'t! And when questioned further he thought that it had started in 1942!!!!
Didn’t ANYONE ever learn any history? Ever?!!?!?
