A Brave New World

Just finished reading it...it’s very interesting – written in 1932, it uncannily predicts the future in a few ways – you’re left double guessing about some of the content, “did that kinda thing exist then?” etcetera. It’s interesting to read his ideas about how he sees the future utopia – replace soma with TV, he’s there. The promiscuous behaviour in the book is pretty much true to how we are now, even though it would have shocked people in 1932. Well worth reading, if only to say you have.

The dialogue is a tad dated, but the prose is gorgeous, he has a very rich way of describing the mundane, it’s kinda unsettling though to read, thinking how much of what he wrote would have shocked the people of his era. And the gorgeous ambiguity of the “moral” arguments still holds true today
